One of the first things mentioned by the instructor in my real estate classes to get my license is that a good real estate agent focuses on building relationships. I smiled because I have been fortunate to make friends with people around the world through my membership in Toastmasters International . I joined Toastmasters in 1997 to build my self confidence and help me express my ideas in management meetings with my employer. It was definitely one of the best decisions I ever made. I joined a small Toastmasters club in Round Rock, Texas and over the years my confidence has improved to the point where I have spoken to groups as large as 1,000, promoted to leadership positions both within Toastmasters as well as with my employers, and gave me the courage to launch my new business in real estate. I could, and actually have, spend hours talking about Toastmasters and the multiple benefits it brings to anyone wanting to improve their self-confidence, communication and leadership skills.
