This week the, Pflugerville Rotary Club, inducted me as a new member of the club and Rotary International . Rotary International has about 1.2 million members in over 35,000 clubs whose mission is to Get Involved and Make a Difference. Members donate over 16 million hours of service each year. At the national level, the causes that are supported include Promoting Peace, Fighting Disease (2.5 billion children have been immunized against polio thanks to Rotary), Providing Clean Water, Saving Mothers and Children, Supporting Education and Growing Local Economies.
In addition to supporting the national causes, the members of the Pflugerville Rotary Club support food banks, provide scholarships, services to the homeless, mentorship for kids of incarcerated parents as well as several other needed service projects in the Pflugerville, Texas community. The Pflugerville club is part of District 5870 Central Texas .
