It has been a while since my last blog. I
confess, this has always been an area I wanted to do more of, but often falling
short. Is this a new year’s resolution then to do better at blogging? Well, no,
since I just recently decided it was time to start sharing my thoughts. There
have been several changes in my life, but my interests have remained the same,
and perhaps even become more focused. My faith in God is stronger, my desire to
serve my world and my community is stronger; and my politics while remain the
same, my perception has changed a bit.
I have changed this website to reflect more of these interests and removed my real estate business. I am still pursuing real estate but now in Tennessee and with a different broker. I am still in the process of getting licensed and I will have a separate website for my real estate business. I will share more once I am official.
My wife Jackie and I no longer live in Austin, Texas. We now live in Maryville, Tennessee, a town in the Great Smoky Mountains. We lived to be closer to my wife’s family in east Tennessee and family I have on the east coast and in the Midwest. Do I like it here? No, I love it here! The beauty of Gods creation abounds all around us; I have found a great church, Foothills Church of Maryville; transferred my Rotary membership to Maryville Rotary; joined two Toastmasters clubs, Morning Cup Toastmasters and Oak Ridge Toastmasters; and I have been serving as a substitute teacher for Blount County School District.
I will wrap this blog up to simply say you will be hearing more from me. I will be speaking more about my faith and how your need for having a personal relationship with God is so important. I will speak out about more about what is happening nationally and locally politically, and even with this, how crucial it is for all believers of Christ to pray for our nation, and our world. I will be speaking more about service through Rotary and the wonderful benefits of being a member of Toastmasters International. I will warn you, that I can get rather wordy. How often will I blog? I am hoping once a week, that is my goal.
